What We Do at Our Core

FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE:

Functional Medicine
  • Functional Medicine determines how and why illness occurs and restores health by addressing the root causes of disease for each individual.
  • The Functional Medicine model is an individualized, patient-centered, science-based approach that empowers patients and practitioners to work together to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal wellness. It requires a detailed understanding of each patient’s genetic, biochemical, and lifestyle factors and leverages that data to direct personalized treatment plans that lead to improved patient outcomes.

  • By addressing root cause, rather than symptoms, practitioners become oriented to identifying the complexity of disease. They may find one condition has many different causes and, likewise, one cause may result in many different conditions. As a result, Functional Medicine treatment targets the specific manifestations of disease in each individual.

NATUROPATHIC MEDICINE: The Original Patient-Centered Care

Naturopathic Medicine

The past 30 years has seen an extraordinary increase in consumer demand for safe, effective, and cost-effective natural health care. Naturopathic medicine has emerged as the health-care profession best suited to meet this demand, with naturopathic doctors trained in the art and science of both natural and conventional medicine. Naturopathic medicine is recognized as one of the original systems of medicine offering safe, effective patient-centered care that is a vital part of healthcare in the twenty-first century.

ENVIRONMENTAL MEDICINE:

Environmental Medicine
Environmental Medicine (EM) explores how the environment interacts with our bodies and uses a holistic, systems-wide based model to evaluate how various toxins, pollutants, chemicals, allergens, sensitivities, and microbes may be compromising the body. EM looks at the concept of cumulative toxic load – low-level exposure and interaction with various substances in food, water, air, homes, and communities – over time compromise our health and wellbeing. EM explores the link between the environment and the documented rise in chronic (sustained) illnesses.
